Built for BMW by Karmann from 1968 to 1975 and known internally as the E9 the CSL was very successful in racing, especially in the European Touring Championships and the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft. This Alpina B2 3.0 CSL, LIGHWEIGHT version of the car was especially successful when re-engineered by the World famous Bavarian Company Alpina. This car is considered by BMW affectionados to be the ultimate car to collect.
